Friday Night Funkin, usually shortened to FNF, is a rhythm game built around musical battles. You play as Boyfriend and match the scrolling notes to the music while an opponent takes their turn. The challenge is to keep your timing through each song, from slower passages to quick runs of notes.
If you are new to FNF, start with the original game to learn the basic rhythm and controls. The Week 7 version is also in the collection. Available songs, modes, and difficulty settings depend on the version you open.
FNF mods are fan-made changes to Friday Night Funkin. A mod can add an opponent, replace the artwork, introduce songs, or change the note patterns and rules. Some follow the original battle format; others turn its characters into a different kind of game.

Most song battles use the arrow keys; some versions also support WASD. Follow the controls for the game you chose, since mods can use different inputs. Fullscreen can give you more room to follow the notes.
Choose an easier setting when the game offers one. Move up when you can follow a passage comfortably.

A keyboard is the most practical starting point. Phone and tablet play depends on whether the game has touch controls. Some games load from third-party providers, so loading time and availability can vary.
